Nicaragua always attaches much importance to its friendship and
solidarity with Vietnam , and wants more cooperation in economics,
trade and investment, especially in the fields of the two countries’
strengths, said President Daniel Ortega.
Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega made the statement on September 2 at a
reception for politburo member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Le Hong Anh during his working visit to the Latin American
country.
President Ortega highly valued Le
Hong Anh’s visit and considered it an important milestone in the
relations between the CPV and the Sandinista National Liberation
Front (FSLN) as well as between the two States.
He urged Vietnam ’s enterprises to soon visit Nicaragua to seek
investment and trade opportunities, adding that Nicaraguan businesses
will also come to study Vietnam ’s know-how in agriculture, small and
medium-sized enterprise development, as well as cooperation
possibilities with Vietnamese companies.
For his
part, Le Hong Anh, who is also a standing member of the CPV Central
Committee’s Secretariat, briefed Ortega on Vietnam ’s current
achievements in socio-economic development, as well as its rising
position in the international arena.
The two
sides exchanged views on numerous regional and international issues of
mutual concern, and agreed on measures to further their bilateral ties
in a more practical and effective manner.
Accordingly, the two sides will foster delegation, information and
experience exchanges, especially in leading local socio-economic
development, and support each other at international forums that the two
countries are members.
They also agreed to
educate their youth on the Vietnam-Nicaragua traditional friendship and
comprehensive cooperation relationship.
The same
day, Le Hong Anh met with President of the Nicaraguan National Assembly
Rene Nunez, who expressed his desire to enhance the relationship
between the two parliaments, as well as step up delegation exchanges to
share experience in legislative issues.
Le Hong
Anh asked the Nicaraguan NA to build a legal framework for the
sustainable and stable cooperation between the two countries.
During Le Hong Anh’s stay, an agreement was signed by the CPV and
the FSLN to further strengthen the friendship, solidarity and
comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties and States.
He left Nicaragua on September 3 for an official visit to Cuba.-VNA
