The army engineers in Nghe An have reported collecting up to 240 shrapnel bombs from a field in Nghi Truong commune, Nghi Loc district.

Last week, Mr. Nguyen Dang Huan found a bomb-like object while working on his field. The man handed over the object to the local authorities.

The local army determined that this was a kind of shrapnel bomb left from the war. A group of army engineers was sent to the site, where they found a big broken shrapnel bomb, which fortunately had not exploded yet, with 240 smaller shrapnel bombs around.

According to authorities, these bombs are capable of causing explosions, with high damage. This is the first time such a large volume of shrapnel bombs were found in Nghi Loc.
