Vung Tau City in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau will celebrate
the National Day as well as its status upgrade to a Grade 1 city with a
four-day (August 22-25) food festival.
Local authorities said
they expected the event to boost tourism in the city by promoting its
food and beverage culture and supporting the hospitality industry to
showcase its products and services.
The festival, held at the
TrungTrac-Trung Nhi Flower Garden (Ward 1, Vung Tau), will have 36
stalls manned by professional chefs working with the city’s leading food
and beverage establishments.
Besides Vietnamese cuisines,
visitors will have a chance to try authentic specialties from countries
like Malaysia , Thailand , Ukraine and Japan . A live music
concert will also be held every night.
Festival organisers
have said they will award prizes to outstanding participants with the
aim of encouraging businesses to deliver excellent and professional
services to visitors.
The awards will be given to different
categories, including excellent dishes, best stall decoration, best
fruit and vegetable carving, best fruit display, the most authentic
national dish and most professional service team.-VNA
