Seven contemporary Vietnamese artists will take part in one of the largest and most important exhibitions on contemporary art in Southeast Asia next month in Tokyo, Japan.
Tran Luong, Dinh Q Le, Tiffany Chung, Uu Dam Tran Nguyen, Hoang Duong Cam, Tuan Andrew Nguyen and Bang Nhat Linh will present their art works at the event that will open simultaneously at National Art Center in Tokyo and Mori Art Museum on July 5.
The exhibition will run until October 23 and subsequently takes place at the Fukouka Museum.
The event titled “Sunshower – Southeast Asian Contemporary Art 1980s to Present ” is co-organized by the National Art Center in Tokyo, the Mori Art Museum and the Japan Foundation Center Asia Foundation.
The project has been prepared for the last two years. Project curators have traveled throughout 10 Southeast Asian countries to carry out research projects, meet artists and select works and artists for the project.
The research trip focused on Vietnam was completed by the end of 2015.
