“Royal” artists join exchange programme

HA NOI (VNS)– About 60 artists and writers from ancient Vietnamese imperial capitals in Ha Noi, Thanh Hoa, Ninh Binh, Phu Tho and Hue will join an exchange programme on arts and literature here from tomorrow until Saturday.
The programme, includes a conference on the achievements of literature and arts sector after 25 years of the “open door” (doi moi) policy, a visit to the pottery village of Bat Trang in Ha Noi – and a tour around historic relics and beauty spots, including West Lake.
The five ancient imperial capitals include Phong Chau (1998BC-257BC) in present Phu Tho; Hoa Lu (968-1010) in Ninh Binh; Thang Long (1010-1400) and (1428-1802) in Ha Noi; Tay Do (1400-1407) in Thanh Hoa; Phu Xuan (1867-1801) and Hue (1802-1945) in Thua Thien Hue Province.
The event is in the framework of the co-operation agreement between the localities’ literature and arts unions in the period of 2010-15. – VNS
