Four documentaries and feature films have won the 2014 Bup Sen Vang
(Golden Lotus Bud) awards, the fifth annual honour for young filmmakers.
Winning documentaries “ Mot ngay binh thuong ” (A normal
day) by Nguyen Duy Linh, and “ Bao gio ve ” (When to return) by Pham Le
Dung were picked out by a judge panel and the audience nationwide,
respectively.
Meanwhile, movies “ Sac mau diu em ” (Subtle
colour) by Nguyen Trung Kien, and “ Hat cam va con meo vang khong tuoi ”
(Orange seeds and ageless yellow cat) by Nguyen Le Hoang Viet were
voted as the best.
The awards are meant for students pursuing
the project ”We are filmmakers” launched by the Centre for Assistance
and Development of Movie Talents, said standing Deputy Chairwoman of the
Vietnam Movie Association Nguyen Thi Hong Ngat at the presentation
ceremony in Hanoi on August 3.
Dedication awards were also presented to three filmmakers.
The judge panel groups well-known filmmakers and journalists at home
and abroad, including Mark Jonathan Harris who won three Oscar prizes
for documentaries.
They selected six best films from over 100 entries.-VNA
