The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has chosen Vietnam to host the
final round of this year’s Asian Cup, the Vietnam Football Federation
(VFF) has announced.
After the annual meeting of FIFA, AFC
representatives will come to Vietnam to inspect facilities before
signing the contract with the VFF to organise the event.
Vietnam topped Group C at the Asian Cup’s qualifying round in Bahrain to enter the final round of the tournament.
The final round involves eight teams, including four group winners of
the Asian Cup qualifier and four teams that went straight into the
finals – defending champions Australia , Japan , China and the
Democratic People’s Republic of Korea .
The top five of the event will qualify for the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada.-VNA
