VietNamNet Bridge – Former national team midfielder Michael Nguyen has signed a contract to compete for Thailand’s Air Force Central FC.

Nguyen is the second Vietnamese player to move to Thailand after Hoang Vu Samson moved to defending champions Burian United several months ago. Nguyen, 29, played for former V.League champions Becamex Binh Duong, but he did not find a berth in the senior team. In three seasons here, he was on field 36 times, mainly to replace injured teammates. He won one V.League trophy and one National Cup title with the club.

The 1.84-m tall player who has a Serbian mother and a Vietnamese father was called to the national team in 2013 and played in two matches.

Air Force Central are a new member of Thai League 1 after it competed for three years in Thai League 2.

Their contract with Nguyen will be for one year.
