President Truong Tan Sang on September 30 received Nakagaki Yoshihiko,
Vice President of Japan’s International Friendship Exchange Council and
Chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee.

At their meeting in Hanoi , the Vietnamese leader
spoke highly of progressive economic, trade and investment activities
between the two countries, adding that his country values the
integration once the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement, to which
Japan is a party, is signed.

He said Vietnam
will try its best to lure more Japanese small- and medium-sized
enterprises which he believes will help develop Vietnam ’s support
industries.

He also asked the Japanese side to
provide information about the demand and capacity of its businesses so
that Vietnamese ministries and sectors can easily bridge them with their
localities.

Additionally, President Truong Tan Sang
pledged maximum efforts to accelerate the progress of Japanese-funded
key traffic projects and open new direct air routes linking the two
nations.

For his part, Nakagaki Yoshihiko
appreciated Vietnam ’s positive and stable economic situation as well
as its potential for investment and cooperation.

Vietnam needs to further develop its support industries,
infrastructure, power supply, and vocational training, he said, adding
that Japan is willing to work with the country to bring bilateral
ties to a new level.

Japan also wishes to expand successful joint educational and medical cooperation models in Vietnam , he said.

Nakagaki Yoshihiko affirmed that he and other members of the Japanese
delegation will work to enhance investment cooperation with the
Vietnamese business circle, thus helping their economic relations live
up to potential.-VNA
