Kites set to fly
DA NANG (VNS)– As many as 160 competitors will take part in the ninth International kite competition on the beach at the Victoria Hoi An Beach Resort and Spa on May 18.
The annual one-day competition is for all visiting foreign and Vietnamese tourists.
“We will test all kites before the competition to make sure they are safe. The event aims to create fun and recreation for tourists visiting Hoi An during the summer vacation,” organising committee member Pham Hong Trang said.
“The annual competition has been a rendezvous for kite teams nationwide since 2005.”
Trang said the Angkor team from Cambodia had been invited to compete in the event.
The winner will receive VND12 million (US$570), while second and third places will receive VND6 million ($285) and VND4 million ($190), respectively. – VNS
