The Vietnamese film “Lua Phat” (Once Upon A Time in Vietnam) will be
screened at the third ASEAN Film Festival to be held in Prague, the
Czech Republic on September 9-13.
The information was released
by Minister Counsellor at the Vietnamese Embassy Hoang Thuy Duong and
ambassadors of the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and
Thailand to the Czech Republic at a press conference introducing
the festival in Prague on September 3.
Directed by
Vietnamese-American Dustin Nguyen, Vietnam ’s first action-fantasy
tells the story of a village where innocent people are oppressed by
local gangsters and a baker in the village calls on his wife and
villagers to fight against the oppressors.
Together with “Lua
Phat”, the festival will also feature “RPG Metanoi” from the
Philippines, “Ladda Land” from Thailand, “Garuda di Dadaku” from
Indonesia and “Songlap” from Malaysia.
