Northern mountainous Bac Kan province’s Department of Construction
on August 1 kickstarted a Finland-funded water supply and environmental
improvement project in the locality.
The project has
a budget of almost 10.7 million Euro. Of which, nearly 8.2 million Euro
is funded by the Government of Finland. The remainder is sourced from
the Vietnamese Government.
The project aims to solve
environmental pollution in the locality, especially in Nong Thuong
stream and waterways in Bac Kan town, and provide clean water for
the town and neighbouring areas.
It is also expected to help
improve the environment and quality of water in the lower areas of the
Cau River through wastewater collection and treatment in Bac Kan
town before it is discharged into the river.
Econet Oy
Company Limited of Finland , which specialises in building supply and
drainage water facilities, will complete the project in 18 months.-VNA
