Businesses from the Republic of Korea (RoK) shared their experience
in developing the digital content industry (DCI) at a workshop in
Hanoi on March 27.
The event, organised by the
Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications, is part of
activities under a cooperation programme in information-technology

Speaking at the function,
Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hong said the event offers an opportunity
for the two countries’ businesses and people working in information
technology, particularly the digital content industry, to share
experience and seek cooperation opportunities.
Choi
Youn Chel, a representative from the Korea Creative Content Agency, said
the RoK has taken the lead worldwide in the DCI.
In
Vietnam , despite being a fledging industry, the DCI has had an impact
on various areas with an impressive annual growth rate of about 20-40
percent over the past decade.
Last year, the industry pocketed over 1 billion USD, involving between 500 and 600 businesses.
A similar workshop on Vietnam’s DCI and prospects for cooperation
with the RoK in this field will take place in Ho Chi Minh City later
this week.
Vietnam and the RoK have set up the
strategic partnership. Over the years, RoK businesses have invested in
an array of areas in the Southeast Asian country, including the DCI.-VNA
