President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Le Hung Dung and his
Japanese counterpart on July 11 signed a memorandum of understanding on
fostering football cooperation between the two sides.

Addressing the signing ceremony, Dung spoke highly of the affiliation
between the VFF and Japan Football Association (JFA), saying it would
help open up all-round football cooperation between the two countries.

JFA President Daini Kuniya said the deal will help strengthen
friendship and mutual trust in sports between the two countries, adding
he believes the VFF will be a special partner of his association.

Under the pact, the two sides will support each other at regional and
international football fora and in training their national squads as
well as share experience in football management and sports medicine.

The ties between the two sides have continuously been boosted over the
past time. Notably, the VFF has appointed Japanese expert Toshiya
Miura as the new manager of the national and Olympic football squads.-VNA
