The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) will work to promote the “Football
for All in Vietnam” (FFAV) initiative to discover talents for
national football.
VFF representatives made the
commitment during a recent working session in Hanoi with “Football
for All” Director Anders Krystad.
The project, jointly
initiated by the Vietnam Football Association and the Football
Association of Norway in 1997, was launched in 2000.
It started in Hanoi in 2001 before spreading to central Thua Thien-Hue province in 2003.
As a result, 147 football clubs have been established, involving more than 16,000 young football players.
FFAV Director Krystad said he hopes the programme’s model will be
successful at schools, pledging to host FFAV training courses for
coaches, referees, and football club management.-VNA
