Representatives of the Vietnamese community in Thailand have
stressed the necessity to stipulate the leadership of the Communist
Party of Vietnam in the to-be-revised Constitution.
They made the point when joining the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in
Thailand, Vietnamese lawyers, and overseas Vietnamese students in a
discussion on the draft amendments to the 1992 Constitution of Vietnam
in Bangkok on March 21.
They pointed to the Party’s close
bond with the nation and its tested driving power to rally the entire
nation’s strength in developing the country towards progress, democracy
and civilization, expressing their confidence in the Party’s leadership
in the national construction and defence.
Many said the draft
amendments to the Constitution are positive, creating an important legal
foundation for the homeland’s development while highlighting democracy,
human rights, and citizens’ rights in all fields.
Vietnamese Ambassador Ngo Duc Thang said he expects the event helped the
Vietnamese community in Thailand better understand the contents as
well as significance of the work of amending the 1992 Constitution.
He stressed that the issues raised in the draft Constitution
amendments are important to the country’s future development,
construction and defence orientations.-VNA
