HÀ NỘI — Twenty-eight artists from Inner Mongolia Erenhot Traditional Art Troupe will perform in Hà Nội and Nam Định from January 19 to 21.

Founded in 1961, the troupe has made great efforts in creating quality shows featuring grassland culture. Over the years, the troupe has produced 10,000 performances which promote culture and art exchange between Inner Mongolia and other countries like Russia.

This event marks the first time the troupe has performed in Việt Nam to celebrate the 68th anniversary of relations between Việt Nam and China. The show will feature dances, songs and performances in traditional costumes.

The dances include bowl and horse dances. The folk songs will be performed by artists who will showcase the traditional khoomei, or throat-singing. The musicians will bring alive the magic of the grasslands and the mountains.

The shows will begin at 8pm and 12pm on January 19 & 20 at Hà Nội Opera House at No 1 Tràng Tiền Street and at Việt Nam-China Friendship Palace at 188 Lê Quang Đạo Street. In Nam Định, the show will kick off at 8pm on January 21, at February 3 Cultural Centre at 155 Nguyễn Du Street. — VNS
